“Our 2017 Channel Partners 360° Business Value Awards winners offer a master class on thriving through disruption,” said Lorna Garey, editor in chief of Channel Partners. “The past few years are arguably the most tumultuous I’ve seen in nearly two decades covering the technology industry. Customers need help, and our CP360° winners delivered. They identified and solved business problems, dramatically increased productivity and saved clients money while at the same time transitioning their own businesses into a new era of digital services selling and mastering complex technologies like SD-WAN.”

ATC’s work with Casella Waste Systems, led by Darren DeMartino, was recognized and earned this year’s 360 award.

“Getting Darren (DeMartino) in here to assess our situation, refine new business requirements and conduct RFP’s, evaluate vendor qualifications, and solution match was instrumental in landing with the right provider for our needs, and secondly assuring a smooth and speedy rollout,” says Frank Wilk, Vice President and CIO, at Casella.

Casella Waste Systems (NASDAQ: CWST) is a waste management company based in Rutland, Vermont, United States. Here’s a snapshot of the work conducted by ATC:

The Challenge: Within a short timeframe for deployment, Casella Waste Systems needed to cutover an underperforming wide area network serving 64 locations in rural, bandwidth-constrained areas across 6 states to a new MPLS backbone with connectivity of at least 10 MB.

The Solution: ATC orchestrated a new network for Casella’s entire network of 85 locations, with 64 on the MPLS backbone and the rest using VPN tunnels, with an edge device for monitoring the primary and secondary ISP in an automatic failover environment, all within a four-month rollout.

The Results: In addition to savings of 20 percent on TDM services and 10 percent on the new MPLS network and internet services, Casella has experienced productivity improvements as a result of the 500 percent upgrade in bandwidth and is anticipating both revenue and organizational growth.

“The new network will allow us to scale and extend our infrastructure and be more agile and efficient,” says Wilk. “Performance is better, and the network is much more conducive for our technology roadmap to move applications and infrastructure to the cloud.

Channel Partners 360° Business Value Awards are selected by a panel of leading industry editors. The panel of editors selected the Casella case study due to its illustration of how ATC is using the convergence of IT and telecom services to create business value for its customers.

Darren DeMartino leads ATC’s Hartford, CT, office and David Goodwin leads ATC’s Cincinnati, OH, office. For more information, contact Advanced Technology Consulting at 1-877-977-4800, or visit insights.4atc.com.
