ATC Intern Gets Dirty
ATC intern, Buddy Hollmeyer, recently headed back to Miami University in Oxford, OH, for his senior year. Although his second summer spent interning for ATC came to an end, his rookie racing season in the Kenyon Midget Series continues for three more races this Fall. ATC has supported the intern’s racing program this summer through a tire sponsorship. The series is unique as it runs the same cars on both pavement and dirt, requiring separate sets of tires for each and replacements throughout the season.
Buddy’s season got off to a slow start, but he picked up momentum in August with a series of four dirt races in Indiana titled, “Dirty August.” Buddy was the only rookie to crack the top five in points for Dirty August. He also picked up his first podium finish with a 3rd place at Paragon Speedway while adding a 5th, 6th, and 8th to round out a successful month. In doing so, Hollmeyer claimed the K&K Marketing Fast Forward (Hard Charger) award for gaining nine positions over the four races.
“I’ve enjoyed my internship with ATC,” says Buddy Hollmeyer. “They keep me super busy with client work, and the Delta Team has really helped me develop professionally. The racing sponsorship has been icing on the cake. The support is greatly appreciated. They even let me flex some time so I could leave early on a couple of Fridays to race. Never have I felt like an ‘intern’ at ATC.”
The season ends with three pavement races, including the first-ever visit to Lorain Raceway Park in Ohio, the Indianapolis Speedrome, and the season championship race at Anderson Speedway. Good luck, Buddy!
